Currently Dieter is a Project Engineer Planning Manager. Dietrich holds a BS and MS degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. He earned his Bachelor degree in May of 2015 after completing 147 credit hours with a 3.54 GPA. One year later he was awarded a Master's degree with a 3.8 GPA after completing a thesis titled "Evaluation of Chloride Threshold for Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete Composites in Aggressively Corrosive Environments". Currently Dietrich is working on personal projects in addition to his career; His personal projects include Vloging, environmental and entrepreneurial endeavors. Born in November of 1991, Dietrich "Dieter" Vogel is the son of James Dean and Caroline Joanna. Although he was born in New Jersey, he calls Doylestown, Bucks County Pennsylvania his home town. During grade school, Dieter moved to Rhode Island with his family. He later attended East Greenwich High School and graduated with 24 college credits from AP classes. Throughout high school Dietrich swam varsity and worked as a seasonal lifeguard for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. He participated as a lawyer on the mock trial team all 4 years of highschool. In addition to academic responsibilities and varsity sports, Dietrich developed his leadership skills competing in paintball tournaments.
In 2010 Dieter graduated from high school and started college at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. FAU proved to be an incubator for significant personal and professional growth. Throughout college Dieter pursued aggressive class loads as well as ambitious job opportunities. Dieter worked as a Pool Lifeguard, Chemistry Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, After Care Councilor, STEM (science technology engineering math) Instructor, and Research Assistant. In addition to work and class, Dietrich was an active participant in the Human Powered Submarine Club, Underwater Robotics Club, Math Team, Finance Club, and Paintball Team. Dieter was very busy as an undergraduate student participating in activities that he was passionate about. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree program, Dietrich decided to follow his passion and pursue graduate research in the field of chemistry and corrosion in a marine environment.
Dietrich preformed his thesis research in Dania Beach Florida at the FAU Seatech campus. Under the advisory of Dr. Francisco Presuel-Moreno, Dieter wrote his thesis in less than 1 year. Thesis research was immediately used by the Florida Department of Transportation to make important economic decisions on the construction materials used in aggressively corrosive environments. In addition to writing a thesis, Dieter also started a business. Currently Dieter lives in Honolulu, Hawaii and is working as a Project Engineer Planning Manager.
